When co-applied with organic bioremediation amendments, Z-Loy™ Bio-Go provides a fertile groundwater environment that promotes rapid and sustained anaerobic bioremediaton. Z-Loy™ Bio-Go products provide the unique combination of small particle size, ease of use, and reactivity with many common groundwater contaminants.
Z-Loy™ Bio-Go contains a mixture of reactive ceramic reductants, buffers, and nutrients which are all suspended in glycol. The mixture renders groundwater deoxygenated, electrochemically reducing, and pH neutral; conditions favoring anaerobic bioremediation. The average particle size is approximately two to three (2 - 3) micrometers; this is the optimum size for in-situ remediation and allows for the material to be co-applied with organic bioremediation amendments at the low pressures that enable a uniform product distribution.
Ethene is a great indicator of microbial degradation - along with the elimination of chlorinated contaminants, a spike in ethene
will be observed as a degradation by-product.
Z-Loy™ Bio-Go is very easy to mix and inject into contaminated groundwater. The fluid is pumped or poured into mixing tanks containing water and bioremediation amendments. The resulting low viscosity aqueous suspension is then pumped directly into the contaminated groundwater at pressures that are often below 20 psi. Injection methodology is virtually the same for both Z-Loy™ Bio-Go and Z-Loy™ MicroMetal products.
Small particles are a unique feature of Z-Loy™ products. With an average size of a few micrometers, the particles are small enough to be suspended in water and injected directly into contaminated aquifers at low pressures. However, the particle size is stall large enough to provide sustained reducing and pH neutral groundwater environment without requiring the high injection pressures and fracking needed to inject larger ZVI products.
